To this????
Waaaaah!
Tomorrow is the first day of Kindergarten. I realized this evening that she needed a "snack bag". I figured I could just whip something up. Bwaa Haa Haa... not without directions. So, I googled me up "lunch bag" and I found a link to these directions from The Princess and the Monkey via CraftGossip.com.
The tutorial was well written and easy to follow and only took me 1.5 hours from start to finish (and I had to dig up all my supplies from various locations since my "craft space" is in transit). It wouldn't take nearly so long if you had everything together. And it is soooo sweet.
I used canvas for the interior fabric and a cute princess fabric for the exterior. Where she is only having snack time, I figured it would not get too messy. I also couldn't find my ribbon (that is packed somewhere) so I made a little loop out of the extra fabric. Ribbon would hold better, but this will do, I think.
Here is the flattened product so you can see some dimensions. It has about a two inch flat bottom (the tutorial on page 3 says to make a two-inch triangle; I only made a one inch triangle).
I love when things work out quickly and perfectly. Thank you Lisa (and Ms. Weaver). I couldn't have done it without you!!
